Crossing the Transcendental Divide: From Translation Surfaces to Algebraic Curves

چکیده
We study constructing an algebraic curve from a Riemann surface given via translation surface, which is collection of finitely many polygons in the plane with sides identified by translation. use theory discrete surfaces to give algorithm for approximating Jacobian variety whose polygon can be decomposed into squares. first implement case L shaped where already known. The also implemented any genus specific examples Jenkins–Strebel representatives, dense family that, until now, lived squarely on analytic side transcendental divide between and curves. Using theta functions, we numerical experiments resulting conjectures up 5.

A Transcendental View of the Space of Algebraic Riemann Surfaces
The subject of my lecture is not a large-scale and general theory but rather a special problem in conformai mapping. By way of justification for bringing it to the attention of a broader audience I may cite, first of all, its deep nature and honorable origin—the problem originated in Riemann's memoir [46] of 1857 on algebraic functions, and after the passage of a century some definitive insight...
متن کاملTranslation surfaces according to a new frame
In this paper we studied the translation surfaces according to a new frame called q-frame in three dimensional Euclidean space. The curvatures of the translation surface are obtained in terms of q-frame curvatures. Finally some special cases are investigated for these surfaces.
متن کاملLocally recoverable codes from algebraic curves and surfaces
A locally recoverable code is a code over a finite alphabet such that the value of any single coordinate of a codeword can be recovered from the values of a small subset of other coordinates. Building on work of Barg, Tamo, and Vlăduţ, we present several constructions of locally recoverable codes from algebraic curves and surfaces.
متن کاملFrom conservation theory to practice: crossing the divide
Conservation biology is continually developing new tools and concepts that contribute to our understanding of populations, species and ecosystems (Chapter 1). The science underpinning the field has undoubtedlymade rapid strides generating more effective methods to document biodiversity, monitor species and habitats. Scientists have developed comprehensive priority setting exercises to help dete...
متن کاملCrossing the phantom divide
We consider fluid perturbations close to the ‘‘phantom divide’’ characterized by p and discuss the conditions under which divergencies in the perturbations can be avoided. We find that the behavior of the perturbations depends crucially on the prescription for the pressure perturbation p. The pressure perturbation is usually defined using the dark energy rest-frame, but we show that this frame ...
